If you're like me and you don't get paid to train full time, making time for jiu-jitsu is a huge challenge on top of work and family responsibilities.

Before I had any real responsibilities, Jiu-jitsu lived in my head 24/7, and I had all the time in the world to train.

Fast forward to now, my "unlimited free time" dwindled to a mere 3 hours a week.

So with these 3 hours, I it became my goal to make the most of each session so I could still improve.

In order to progress more efficiently while only training a few times a week, I had to maximize the quality of each training session and execute each day of training with intent.

I created this journal for myself to:

-Plan my training around my strengths and weaknesses

-Extract key concepts from successes and failures in training

-Stay focused on my goals in a world flooded with flashy Instagram techniques

Inside the journal is the F.O.C.U.S. framework, which will guide you through structuring each day, week, and month of training.

This journal is for you if you’re looking to:

-Walk away from each training session feeling productive with actionable steps for future improvement

-Unlock a deeper understanding of the "why" behind the successes and shortcomings of your training sessions

-Make improvements to holes in your game while balancing your training with other life responsibilities

This journal is NOT for you if:

-You think purchasing a something will automatically make you better

-You don't put in the work during training

-You can't hold yourself accountable to self study outside of the gym

-You can't self-reflect on mistakes and successes and "coach" yourself

It's still going to require hard work, dedication, and critical thinking from you to see the improvements you're looking for.

At the end of the day, no matter who you train with, you are in control of your growth. Whether it be in a world class gym, or some mats in your garage/basement- If something isn't working for you, you can change that with a little bit of research and commitment.

YOU are your own best coach whether you realize it or not.

This journal is meant to be a guide for you to do that.
